We are already so proud of how far you've come. No matter what happens from this point forward, remember that you have already accomplished what so many only dream of.

Now it’s down to the world’s 60-ish best AeroPressers, and you’re one of them. Top stuff.

Before You Arrive

Visa Arrangements

Not every person entering Canada needs a visa. Find out if you require a visa here. If you require a letter of support, please fill the form here. Please note, while we’ll help where we can, we have no influence over the granting of visas.

Where to Stay

We've made a group block with AMAZING rates just a stones throw away from the venue at the Lonsdale Quay Hotel! Situated right above the iconic Lonsdale Quay Market, your steps away from some of the best food, drinks, and sights North Vancouver has to offer. Limited number of rooms for a limited time (last day to book here is October 10th), so get your accomodations sorted out as soon as possible!

Another great budget-friendly option in the area is the North Vancouver Hotel, or if you're looking to splurge a little, the Seaside Hotel North Vancouver or the Pinnacle Pier Hotel.

What to bring

The tools of your trade!
Bring your aeropress! Everything else will be provided (kettles, scale, carafe) but if you wish to brew with something you're familiar with, then go for it!

We will be providing Macap Labo 70D grinders, for practice and competition.

Please make sure that:
- You have your equipment labelled with your name.

- Your equipment is able to run on North American Power (120V)

- Bring any adaptors you require.

General Vancouver Information

Vancouver isn't called Raincouver for a reason. There will most likey be some sort of rain during your stay, so pack a warm raincoat-- we're still in Canada afterall. It tends to sit at around 7°c-3°c or 44°f-37°f, so bring some warm sweaters, socks and something to keep your head warm!

If you want to explore Vancouver, the SeaBus terminal is right off the venue that is scheduled every 15 minutes.

Vancouver things you may want to bring are warm clothing and a good ol' touque (or a beanie for the non-Canadians).

Practice Coffee

This is really important! We are not sending out practice coffee before the competition.

In previous years, around 30% of the practice coffee never arrives to competitors. To make it fairer for everyone, all competitors will receive their practice coffee at the same time on the 'training and conditioning' day, which is one day before the World Final at 3:00pm, roasted by our friends at Quietly Coffee.

No exceptions, sorry.

Staying Informed

It’s difficult to stay in touch with so many people in so many countries, but directly emailing Venice is your best bet. We will send all communications to the email address we have from you. You can reach Venice at venice@aero.press.

Please don’t message us through Instagram, Facebook, or any other platform.

The World Final

The Itinerary

The WAC World Final will be split into three days.

Training and Conditioning (Thursday, December 1st) is a special day that we have planned for all of the national champions to mingle, learn and practice their recipes.

The Playoffs aka The World Final (Friday, December 2nd) is when you'll get your shot at the title of World AeroPress Champion.

City Takeover (Saturday, December 3rd) is the day that the WAC takes over the best cafes in the city to serve the winning recipe from the night before. There will be an official closing out party for special guests that evening (and you'll be a guest of honour!).

We will put the floorplan here to give you the lay of the land and where they are allowed to roam (and where they guests may not).

What We'll Provide

Practice Area

Each competitor will have a designated area to practice in, and we will provide your competitor kits in Vancouver. This will include cupping bowl, carafe, kettle, the practice coffee, and other goodies.

On Stage

MACAP grinders will be provided if you'd like to grind on-stage

When packing your bags, please ensure:

Your equipment is safe and in good working order. Unsafe equipment will be disallowed.

Please know that all equipment is brought at your own risk. We cannot accept any responsibility for lost, stolen, or damaged equipment.

Competitor Brew Bar

This is your (other) time to shine! We trialled it in Sydney, and it was a big success, so we’re bringing back the Competitor Brew Bar and giving spectators the opportunity to try your winning AeroPress recipe!

Once your round on stage is over, the two competitors who did advance in the round will head to the Competitor Brew Bar, where you will get to brew your recipe for event attendees to taste.

We’ll do a complete walkthrough with you on the day to show you how it’ll work.
