who we are
Despite the breadth, scale, and reach of the World AeroPress Championship, we remain an independently run organization with a full-time team of two directors, supported by contractors, ad-hoc crew, and volunteers across our various activations.
Tim Williams
Director, he/him
━━━━
Tim is the Director of the World AeroPress Championship, and has been guiding the growth of our network for over a decade.
Since the early 2000s, he’s worked across hands-on and leadership roles at Workshop Coffee and Square Mile in London, and Intelligentsia Coffee & Tea in Los Angeles, before founding and growing Fieldwork Coffee in Melbourne, which he recently sold.
Along the way, Tim’s led and contributed to a range of immersive coffee and brand projects, from helping develop Café Kitsuné to launching the Gitesi Project, coaching two World Barista Champions, running Square Mile’s ‘Penny University’ pop-up, and serving as a founding member of Coffee Common.
Today, Tim lives in Melbourne and divides his time between the World AeroPress Championship, running a small charity in rural Rwanda, and raising three kids with his partner, Leah.
Grant Gamble
Creative Director, he/him
━━━━
Ad school dropout turned Creative Director for the world’s largest coffee brewing competition.
With twenty years of industry experience under his belt, Grant is the driving creative force behind WAC and manages our partner relationships with hosts and sponsors across the globe.
An extensive background in marketing strategy, branding, event organization, and lived experience across the coffee value stream has given him the unique toolset to set the stage for our stakeholders’ success.
Alongside his role with the WAC, Grant is the founder of Culture Coffee Project, co-founder of Leaderboard: The Coffee Game, and remains involved as an advisor to a number of other projects. He currently resides in the Pacific Northwest with his moderately famous toy poodle, Mili.
